As part of its continued effort to develop the Facilities Management Industry in Africa and enhance professional skills within the market, Alpha Mead Training Centre, AMTC, as part of its FM Market Outlook Series, wishes to announce a webinar to evaluate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Facilities Management sector.
The webinar, which will be led by Ukeme Peters, Head, Planning & Enterprise Management Systems (PEMS), Alpha Mead Group, seeks to assess the micro and macro-economic environment in Nigeria and Africa and discuss the implications of COVID-19 on the FM market, education, businesses, career growth, and prospects.
According to Peters, “the Real Estate industry and by extension, the FM sector is not one of those industries that respond to market spontaneously. As it is seen today, this pandemic as locked down virtually all sectors of Real Estate. The hospitality sector is down because tourism and lifestyle have been put on hold, the industrial and retail sectors are extremely slow because the value chain is grounded, residential is a mixed bag of opportunities and threats, and commercial is greatly threatened both from economic and future-of-the-workplace perspectives”.
“So what we seek to do with the webinar is to assess the economy and the implications of the lockdown on Real Estate sectors where Facilities Management provides service and draw conclusions on the opportunities and co-create ideas on how to take advantage of the opportunities post-COVID-19″.
